Privacy Policy
Effective July 19, 2026 · Nerkh iOS app & nerkh.org
What the app stores — on your device only
- Your preferences — hidden tiles, display unit (Toman/Rial), and widget currency choices.
- Your rate alerts — thresholds you set, evaluated on your device.
- Rate snapshots — recent rates cached locally so charts work offline.
None of this leaves your device. Deleting the app deletes all of it.
Network requests
The app and its widgets fetch exchange-rate data from our content delivery network (Amazon CloudFront). Like any web server, the CDN briefly processes your IP address to deliver the response; we do not use it to identify you and we keep no user database. No cookies, no device identifiers, no fingerprinting.
Analytics
As promised below under “Changes”, here is exactly what we added and how it works. The app and this website count anonymous usage events with PostHog, hosted in the EU (Frankfurt), so we can see which features are used and make Nerkh better.
- What we record — which screens are opened, which features are used, and which currency codes are viewed (for example “USD detail opened”). Never the amounts you convert, the alert thresholds you set, or anything typed into the app.
- No profiles, no identifiers — events are anonymous: no accounts, no person profiles, no device identifiers, no advertising IDs, and we never link events to you.
- No cookies on the website — instead of cookies or local storage, the website uses a non-reversible, daily-rotating server hash, so you appear as a brand-new visitor every day by design.
- No cross-site tracking — nothing follows you to other apps or websites, and we share nothing with ad networks.
Notifications
Rate alerts use local notifications generated on your device. If you decline notification permission, alerts simply stay visible inside the app.
The website
nerkh.org sets no cookies; it runs only the anonymous, cookieless analytics described above. Rate tiles on the homepage are fetched from the same CDN described above. Fonts are served by Google Fonts, which receives the standard request metadata (such as your IP address) needed to deliver the font files — see Google Fonts privacy FAQ.
Children
Nerkh is a financial-information utility and does not knowingly collect any data from anyone, including children.
Changes
If this policy ever changes — for example, if we add optional, privacy-preserving analytics — the change will be described on this page before it ships.
